LONDON (Kyodo) Following the death of a stranded whale in the Thames River that captivated the world, campaigners used national newspaper ads Wednesday to oppose Japan’s whaling program.
The full-page ad reminded readers that while one dead whale caught the world’s attention, Japanese whalers “were planning to slaughter 1,000 more.”
