Universal Studios Japan said Thursday it will recall around 88,000 stuffed animals given to park visitors since last August after it received a complaint earlier this month that a needle was found in a teddy bear.

The Osaka-based theme park said no one has been injured and it will place ads in the Friday morning editions of seven newspapers about its recall.

The stuffed bears, dogs and other animals were given away as game prizes.

The needle resembled ones used at a Chinese factory commissioned by a U.S. firm to make the animals, USJ said.
