Donald Johnston, secretary general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and development, will arrive in Japan on July 19 to meet government officials and join economic events, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.

Johnston plans to attend an economic conference jointly organized by the OECD and private think tank Japan Center for Economic Research on July 20 in Tokyo, it said.

He also plans to go to Fukuoka Prefecture to meet local businesspeople and deliver a speech at Kyushu University before leaving on July 24, it said.
