Toyota Motor Corp., Central Japan Railway Co. and Chubu Electric Power Co. hope to solicit 20 billion yen in donations to build an all-male boarding school they plan to open in April 2006, sources said Wednesday.

The three companies will each put up 4 billion yen for the project, and are hoping they can collect the remaining 8 billion yen from other corporate and individual donors across Japan, the sources said.

Last April, the three announced the plan to open a six-year boarding school in Aichi Prefecture for boys aged between 12 and 18, with 120 students in each grade.

The three firms plan to set up a preparatory school body by the end of this year, the sources said.
