The Finance Ministry wants to install DNA analyzers for agricultural products at major customhouses to prevent the importation of products grown abroad from seeds cultured in Japan.

If the Diet approves the ministry’s funding plan for the equipment, the analyzers will be installed at customhouses nationwide starting in the spring, ministry officials said.
