KAWASAKI – The Kawasaki Municipal Government on Tuesday started building a short-stay facility for the area’s homeless, despite protests from local residents who fear a deterioration in public safety.
The residents described the move by city officials as unfair. They are demanding a meeting over the city’s plan to turn a disused pharmaceutical factory in Kawasaki Ward into a facility that can accommodate up to 250 people.
