A former construction company president has admitted beating up a worker and, when the victim died a week later, having him buried with two other slain employees in the parking lot of a campground the firm managed in Yamanashi Prefecture, it was learned Wednesday.

Police unearthed three bodies at the site last week.

According to sources close to the investigation, Yoshihiro Asa, 54, the former president of the now-defunct firm Asahi Kensetsu, told police that one of the bodies was that of an employee he beat up several years ago.

Asa, who is presently under arrest for alleged embezzlement, claimed to investigators that the man recovered from the beating but died about a week later.
