Prosecutors in Mexico have indicted a 27-year-old self-employed man on charges of killing a Japanese resident of Mexico City after a quarrel, local authorities said Friday.

Enguerberto Granados is accused of shooting Eisuke Mizukoshi, 33, around 6 a.m. last Sunday after his truck collided with Mizukoshi's vehicle on a highway and the two men quarreled.

The suspect fled the scene but was detained that night.

Mizukoshi, from the city of Takasago, Hyogo Prefecture, had lived in Mexico for 10 years, selling fish to Japanese restaurants.
