Kaoru Hasuike and his wife, Yukiko, two of five abductees repatriated from North Korea in October, began a tour of public facilities here Tuesday.

Hasuike, 45, plans to work at City Hall, possibly starting next month. The tour was organized to help him and his 46-year-old wife resettle in Japan, city officials said. The couple were abducted to North Korea in 1978.

They visited a facility that provides nursing care for children and the elderly.

The couple will also visit a city library, a police station and a doll museum as part of a series of four tours, the officials said.
