Japan announced Friday a series of aid projects for developing nations at the Earth Summit that will be included in a document on partnership initiatives.

The initiatives put forward by countries and international organizations will be one of the major achievements of the U.N. World Summit on Sustainable Development.

One of the Japanese projects includes an international network to help regions hit by floods. The project would facilitate the exchange of information among governments, experts and civic groups on topics such as flood prevention. It would also organize experts who can provide help during floods.
