A group of three or four men shot two security guards Wednesday morning and made off with about 10 million yen from a cash-transport vehicle outside a Shonan Shinkin Bank branch in central Yokohama.

Terukazu Hojo, 36, an employee of the security service Sogo Keibi Hosho Co., was shot in the chest and abdomen, fire department officials said. The other guard, Shinichi Nakano, 52, was also shot, they said. Both men were seriously wounded.

Kanagawa Prefectural Police said the robbers, wearing black masks, attacked the van in the parking lot of the Isezakicho branch of Shonan Shinkin Bank at around 9:55 a.m., then fled by car.
