A construction company employee was found stabbed to death Tuesday night in a minivehicle by the Ibi River in Sunami, Gifu Prefecture, police said Wednesday.
The body was identified as that of Yoshihiro Watanabe, 42, of Ibigawa, Gifu Prefecture.
A colleague notified the local fire department after Watanabe failed to show up for work Tuesday morning, police said. The colleague later found Watanabe in the vehicle dead, with stab wounds to the chest and abdomen, at around 7:30 p.m.
