A middle-aged man who was assaulted Saturday by a group of young men on a street in Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, has died, police said Sunday.
The victim, whose identity was not known as of press time, was described by police as a 180-cm tall man in his 40s or 50s who was wearing a gray T-shirt and green shorts at the time of the attack.
The suspects were described by police as four or five men who appear to be in their 20s or younger, with one sporting dyed hair.
The attack occurred just past midnight Saturday in front of a local convenience store. The cause of the incident has not been determined.
