A 27-year-old man who dressed in a squirrel costume to lure junior high school girls that he subsequently molested was sentenced to five years in prison Monday.
Michiaki Nagano's actions "exploited the immaturity of elementary and junior high school children and were malicious, premeditated and indiscriminate, " said presiding Judge Hiroyuki Anegawa of the Shizuoka District Court.
The judge noted that Nagano's victims, some of whom are unable to return to school, have trouble trusting men and adults.
