At 8 a.m. every Sunday, millions of Indonesian children sit in front of televisions to watch their favorite character sing a song on the Jakarta-based Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia channel -- and to sing along with him.

"I want this, I want that, I want, want, want many things. All, all, all can come true, can come true, thanks to the magic pocket."

He is Doraemon, the immensely famous Japanese comic book character. He's a catlike robot from the 22nd century and has a fourth-dimensional pocket on his abdomen from which he can take out many amazing, futuristic gadgets.

Doraemon marked his 10th anniversary in Indonesia on Sunday. Even after a decade, he remains immensely popular with both children and adults in the country.
