A dead whale was found floating Friday morning in Tokyo Bay in front of a Yokohama public yacht harbor, harbor officials said.
The injured, 3.3-meter-long whale had initially been spotted Tuesday by a Japan Coast Guard patrol boat. The whale later collided with a leisure boat before disappearing, Coast Guard officials said.
The dead whale will be kept as a specimen at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, the harbor officials said.
