OSAKA — The last household living in temporary facilities set up in Osaka Prefecture after the Great Hanshin Earthquake has moved out, officials said Friday.

At its peak, during the aftermath of the disaster, nearly 2,250 households, consisting of Osaka and Hyogo prefecture residents, were housed in the facilities. Now, four years and five months after the disaster struck, the transfer of families to new homes is complete in Osaka Prefecture.

After the earthquake, temporary housing was set up in 21 locations.

Osaka Gov. "Knock" Yokoyama said Friday he was pleased that the last of the residents had vacated the facilities and that survivors of the disaster are still working to put their lives back together.
