Treat yourself in Kyoto
The Hyatt Regency Kyoto is offering an accommodation and Oriental therapy package to help you relax and unwind.
The two-night package, which is available throughout 2008, includes acupuncture and moxa (burning herb) treatments at the hotel’s Riraku Spa and Fitness facility. The first treatment session starts with a health consultation by experienced therapists. Guests will receive three treatment sessions during their stay.
After the treatment, nutritious dinners will be served at the hotel’s Touzan Japanese restaurant. Kanpo (Chinese herbal) hot pot and yakuzen (cuisine based on Chinese medicine) kaiseki (course meals) use ingredients chosen to improve each guest’s condition according to feedback from the therapists.
The package starts from ¥102,650 for single occupancy and from ¥161,300 for double occupancy, including two dinners at Touzan and two Japanese breakfasts in your room or at The Grill restaurant. The package is available through Dec. 26, 2008.

Lunch at the top
A lunch plan at the Park Hotel Tokyo in the Shiodome Media Tower features Japanese restaurant Hanasanshou and French restaurant Gastronomie Francaise Tateru Yoshino, which received a one-star rating in the new Michelin Guide Tokyo released in November.
At Hanasanshou on the 25th floor, guests can enjoy fresh seafood and Kyoto vegetables delicately arranged in a three-layered Japanese lunchbox, and views of Hamarikyu Garden and the Sumida River. After lunch, tea, coffee and original desserts from Tateru Yoshino will be served in The Lounge, an open space on the 25th floor, which is bathed in light from a 10-floor-high atrium.
The lunch plan is available through Feb. 29, between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., and costs ¥5,250 with tax. Reservations are required.
There is a direct connection between the hotel and Shiodome Station, or it’s just a short walk from Shimbashi Station.

The Glenlivet single-malt dinner
From Jan. 15 through 31, a dinner fair promoting The Glenlivet single-malt whiskey will be held at two restaurants in Roppongi, Tokyo.
Italian restaurant Griglia Uetake and French restaurant Ma Chambre will prepare dinner courses that best match The Glenlivet’s unique flavors, which vary depending on age and the type of wood used for the barrels in which it is matured and stored.
At Ma Chambre, a course of four dishes plus appetizer and dessert is ¥12,000. Starting with a whiskey-based cocktail to accompany the appetizer, the course uses four different kinds of Glenlivet: the 12- and 18-year-old unnamed varieties, and the French Oak Reserve and Nadurra brands.
Griglia Uetake will offer a three-dish course, each accompanied with a different type of the single malt, and dessert for ¥13,000.
