Made by the Nikkatsu studio in the early 1970s in emulation of the violent and sexy exploitation films drawing audiences in the U.S., the five "Stray Cat Rock" films feature Kaji Meiko as a glowering kick-ass heroine e_SEmD the equal of the tough guys around her. In addition to its go-go-era coolness, the series reflected real social upheavals. Arrow Films has released a Blu-ray/DVD box set of the series with an array of extras, including a T-shirt.
