A benefit exhibition featuring Le Thanh Son, a well-known Impressionist-style painter from Vietnam putting on his first solo show in Japan, will be held in Tokyo from April 13 to 18. The 45-year-old artist is renowned for his use of bright colors in re-creating the intimate atmospheres of villages around Hanoi.
Twenty of his large works will be shown. The exhibition, being staged on the 20th-floor gallery space of Shinsei Bank in Uchisaiwai-cho, Chiyoda Ward, is free. Sales from the show will benefit such charities and initiatives as Tokyo English Lifeline (TELL), Second Harvest Japan, Hands on Tokyo and Room to Read.
The exhibition hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, then from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 14 to 18. (The opening reception Sunday is fully booked.)
