Oreo is an all-black Labrador-Australian shepherd and, just like his name, he’s a sweet softie on the inside.

Sadly, when he came to Japan from the United States, he apparently had some guarding issues and his former owners were afraid he was being overly protective of the wife, making her nervous about their still-small children. Thus he came to ARK.

Born in November 2012, Oreo weighs in at a substantial 28 kilograms. He’s strong, loves walks and is good on a leash. Still, he’s a lot of dog in many ways. He craves attention and can get jealous. He was also given treats to stop him barking which, of course, taught him to bark when he wanted something. Which he does ... loudly. Though he lacks some social skills and has some bad habits, Oreo is gentle and fine with children. He’s a quick study and eager to please. Pay him attention and he’ll find his way into your heart.
