Japanese donate $100,000 for welfare of Nepalese Sherpas
Japanese alpinist Ken Noguchi donated $100,000 on behalf of the Japanese public to Nepal on Monday to help the families of Sherpas who die in avalanches and other accidents while climbing Mt. Everest.

Kids' books donated to disaster-hit Miyagi city
Children and grownups in Higashimatsushima, a city in Miyagi Prefecture that was devastated by the tsunami from the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, are now able to read around 1,500 picture books donated by Taro Gomi, a well-known author of children's books.
