Aloha: a dog named Ilio
Ilio came to ARK with his brother when his previous owner had to be hospitalized. Still relatively young at 8 years old, Ilio, whose name means "dog" in Hawaiian, would be a perfect canine for someone looking for a mature companion. A silver dapple longhair miniature dachshund, Ilio weighs just under 5 kg, which is a perfect weight for him. He's a good dog and doesn't bark or get upset if left on his own for a bit, but he does love people. The pads of his feet are very soft and indicate Ilio may not have been walked much. Now, he'll look very pleased to be taken out. Only just discovering the joys of excursions into the great outdoors, a walk in the neighborhood for Ilio is no less than a stroll through paradise.

Fraser the rabbit enjoys a bit of company
It doesn't get any cuter than this little bunny named Fraser — and his 18 brothers and sisters — that ARK took in from an elderly couple that didn't seem to quite understand the birds and the bees when it came to bunnies. Fraser is the representative rabbit for the whole bunch that arrived at ARK in May of last year. They are still there and not suited at all to the cold of the shelter. Fraser, like the others, has red eyes and stand-up ears. He personally likes company and enjoys being brushed. Fraser is a bit shy but likes people, and loves being picked up and stroked. He's a little bit of a thing at 1.8 kg and just perfect for cuddling or crooning to.
