Even though the odds were against the Yokohama DeNA BayStars after losing the first two games of the Japan Series at home, manager Daisuke Miura did not panic.

If anything, the mood around the BayStars, who knew they needed to win at least two of the next three games on the road against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, NPB’s modern dynasty, was relaxed.

“On the travel day, we had a practice, and I went out and ate some delicious fish with some of the coaching staff,” Miura said at the Japan National Press Club on Monday. “We were pretty relaxed. So were the players, and there was no one who thought it was impossible.”
