Joey Barton's tumultuous spell at Rangers was ended on Thursday as the club announced it had terminated the midfielder's contract with immediate effect.
The 34-year-old Englishman, who joined Rangers on a two-year contract in May, returned to the Scottish Premiership club last week after a six-week suspension following an altercation with a teammate.
He had also been charged with a breach of betting rules by the Scottish Football Association (SFA) in October and was signed off due to stress earlier this week as negotiations took place over a severance deal.
