Saint Joseph's overcame a 14-point halftime deficit against the George Washington men's basketball team in the Atlantic 10 Tournament quarterfinals on Friday.

The fourth-seeded Hawks earned an 86-80 victory over Yuta Watanabe and the fifth-seeded Colonials at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Saint Joseph's outscored its A-10 rival 51-31 in the second half.

Watanabe, who hails from Kagawa Prefecture, was held to six points on 2-for-8 shooting.

Saint Joseph's improved to 25-7; George Washington slipped to 23-10.

The Colonials could receive an at-large invitation to the NCAA Men's Tournament. The team now awaits the Selection Sunday announcement of the invited 68 teams.
