Takeshi Mito and Masashi Joho scored 17 points apiece as the host Toyama Grouses defeated the Gunma Crane Thunders 87-74 on Monday in the bj-league.
Ira Brown added 12 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and five steals for the Grouses, who improved to 2-0. Jeremy Jacob contributed 12 points and nine rebounds in the victory, while teammate Tatsunori Fujie scored 10.
The Grouses hauled in 53 rebounds to Gunma's 39.
Kenya Tomori paced the expansion Crane Thunders with 15 points, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range.
Toyama led 30-16 after the opening quarter.
