The Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix improved to a league-best 10-1, defeating the host Kyoto Hannaryz 96-82 on Friday in the bj-league.

Jeffrey Parmer had 23 points and 11 rebounds, Ray Nixon scored 17 and Kazutoshi Ota added 14 for the reigning champion Phoenix, who outscored the Hannaryz 29-12 in the second quarter.

Wendell White, the league's 2009-10 league MVP while playing for Hamamatsu, had a team-best 27 points and 11 rebounds for Kyoto (4-7). Michael Fey scored 13 and Sunao Murakami had 10 points and six assists.

Kyoto's Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf scored all nine of his points in the first quarter. The former NBA guard played 11 total minutes, and it's unclear at press time if he suffered an injury.

Also Friday, Michael Parker scored 30 points and Jartavious Henderson and Thiago Cordeiro each scored 15 in the Rizing Fukuoka's 96-78 home win over the Shimane Susanoo Magic.

Nile Murry added 13 points and six assists and Jun Nakanishi scored 10 for the Rizing (8-4).

For Shimane (5-7), Reggie Golson had a double-double (20 points, 13 rebounds) and Koki Yabuuchi scored a season-best 19 points.
