Zach Andrews nailed a buzzer-beater as the Niigata Albirex defeated the visiting Saitama Broncos 68-67 on Sunday.
Andrews, a Bradley University product, had 14 points and 15 rebounds a day after a 17-point, 18-rebound effort.
Willie Veasley was Niigata's leading scorer with 16 points and also grabbed seven rebounds. Julius Ashby, a bj-league Best Five player last season for Tokyo, added 13 points and six boards and Issa Konare had nine points. Yuichi Ikeda chipped in with eight points and five assists for the Albirex (3-1).
