The Oita HeatDevils have struggled since the season began, but center Jeffrey Price helped them put together their first winning streak of the 2008-09 season last weekend.

Price is the Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week, the bj-league announced on Tuesday. The 204-cm big man had 16 points and nine rebounds in a 70-69 victory over the host Toyama Grouses on Saturday. A day later, Price scored a game-high 31 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked four shots as Oita improved to 4-10.

Also Tuesday, Tokyo Apache guard John “Helicopter” Humphrey was named the league’s player of the month for November. Humphrey averaged 28.4 points per game as the Apache went 6-2 in the month. In November, he shot 42.6 percent from 3-point range and had four games of 30 or more points.
