J. League first-division club FC Tokyo agreed on a contract Wednesday with Japan Under-23 international Yuhei Tokunaga, who had drawn interest from Spanish side Valencia.
Tokunaga, a 22-year-old Waseda University defender, had been offered to join Valencia's training sessions by the end of this month but chose to sign for FC Tokyo for greater playing opportunities in competitive matches.
Tokunaga was a member of Japan's Olympic squad at last year's Athens Games.
