Softbank Hawks owner Masayoshi Son said Friday he will push ahead with a proposal to hold a competition designed to decide the world's No. 1 club team.
Son told reporters at a Tokyo hotel that he plans to present the proposal to a meeting of baseball owners next month with an eye on playing a home-and-away series between the Japanese and major-league champions beginning as early as the fall of 2006.
