The Tokyo District Court on Monday sentenced Brazilian forward Sandro Cardoso Dos Santos of J. League team JEF United Ichihara-Chiba to 10 months in prison, suspended for three years, for sexually assaulting a woman at his home in May 2004.

According to the ruling, Dos Santos, 24, touched the body of a female friend of his fiancee against her will in his house in Chiba on May 23.

Elsewhere in J. League news, league champion Yokohama F. Marinos said Sunday they have acquired striker Adhemar on a contract that runs until Jan. 1 next year.

The 32-year-old Adhemar, the top scorer in the 2000 Brazilian Championship with local club Sao Caetano, has also played for German first-division side VfB Stuttgart.
