Akinori Iwamura went 4-for-6 with a two-run single to highlight a nine-run outburst in the second inning as the Yakult Swallows lashed out 22 hits to crush the Chunichi Dragons 20-7 Monday night at Jingu Stadium.

The Swallows rapped out nine consecutive hits in the bottom of the second, capped by a three-run homer by Atsuya Furuta as Yakult sent 12 batters to the plate and turned the game around after the visitors took a 2-0 lead on two homers.

Masanori Ishikawa (2-2) pitched seven strong innings, giving up three runs and five hits in a 95-pitch outing and also had two hits, including a game-tying RBI single in the second. The game featured seven homers, five by Yakult batters.

Shigeki Noguchi (2-2) gave up eight runs on eight hits and lasted only 1 2/3 innings.

At Yokohama Stadium, Roberto Petagine drove home the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning and Shinnosuke Abe hit a two-run shot for his career-high 18th homer as Yomiuri rallied to beat the BayStars.
