Canadian Chris Bright of Kokudo, who led the league with 39 points on 23 goals and 16 assists, was named MVP of the Japan Ice Hockey League for the first time in seven years on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old Bright won the MVP honors for the second time in his career in Japan.
