Former FC Utrecht coach Han Berger has agreed to take over as the new manager of Oita Trinita and will sign a one-year contract with the J. League first division side early next month, soccer officials said Wednesday.
The 53-year-old Berger served as the head coach, assistant coach and technical director of Dutch side FC Utrecht, for whom Japan midfielder Toshiya Fujita played this season, during his 15-year association with the club until Nov. 1.
