Assisted by my "HKIA" frequent visitors card, I entered Hong Kong last week through the specially dedicated immigration channel in literally a few seconds!

The next morning I exited Hong Kong, again speedily, using the dedicated immigration line, to return to KIX Osaka where -- despite the fact that my fingerprints and photograph have been on file with the Japanese government since November 1974, I have lived in Japan for a total of 23 years and I have repeatedly requested in writing over the last 12 months to be allowed to preregister my biometric data -- I am always denied speedy entry since the faster processing system is available only at Narita (Tokyo). I had to wait, even in the "fast-track" re-entry permit holder line, for 30 to 40 minutes only to be treated, yet again, like a criminal suspect.

Since last November, the unnecessary inconveniences caused to so many resident foreign businessmen at KIX and other regional airports have infuriated us all, destroyed Japan's international business reputation, and turned many long-term Japanophiles into the exact opposite.
