Students from Saitama University have created a booklet aimed at educating people about sexual violence on campus, with examples of abusive words and actions.
Statements like “Are you really a man?” and “Why don’t you lose a bit more weight?” are some of the comments included as examples in the 24-page booklet, available on the university’s website.
"People think of sexual violence as something you usually encounter on the street at night, as an assault from a stranger, but it’s much closer to home,” said Yuka Nomura, 24, who came up with the idea of creating the booklet. “We should think of it as something that relates to all of us."
