NAHA, OKINAWA PREF. – Two U.S. Marines were arrested Saturday for allegedly trespassing the previous day in Okinawa Prefecture, police said.
The two suspects, Sgt. Richard Hart and Lance Cpl. Justinkainoa Kealanahele, are suspected of entering the balcony of an apartment in the town of Kin around 10:45 p.m. on Friday.
The pair told the police they had sought to enter the apartment to take care of a Japanese drinking buddy who was with them.
According to the police, a 46-year-old resident in the apartment alerted the two marines that they were standing on his balcony. They fled the scene but were soon apprehended by police.
