YOKOHAMA – A man jumped out of the window of a Tokyo-bound commuter train in Kawasaki at around 9 p.m. Thursday and was later found bleeding from the head at an apartment building along the tracks, police said.
The 39-year-old man from Machida, western Tokyo, was taken to a hospital but did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
The police suspect the man was involved in trouble with a female passenger on a 10-car rapid service train run by Odakyu Electric Railway Co. The train was heading to Shinjuku from Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Odakyu Electric said a passenger told the crew that the man was harassing the woman and that she or someone nearby activated the emergency buzzer.
