Japan Airlines Co. will offer meals designed by the head chefs of the popular dining chains Ore no (My) Italian and Ore no French on its flights to Honolulu from September, the airline said Monday.

The meals will be served in economy class on flights departing Narita, Chubu and Kansai international airports, with flights from Haneda airport offering sandwiches from the Hawaiian-style hamburger chain Kua'aina. Only flights leaving Japan, not those returning from Hawaii, will offer the meals.

From October, JAL also will roll out a space strictly for women to apply their makeup before landing on all Honolulu-bound services.
