The aging, 40-story World Trade Center Building in Tokyo will be rebuilt, with its operator planning to complete a new 200-meter-tall structure and related facilities in fiscal 2024.

Dismantling the 152-meter building in Minato Ward, Japan's tallest skyscraper at the time of its opening in March 1970, will commence in fiscal 2019, the operator said Thursday. Other buildings and facilities, such as a medical center and a bus terminal, will also be constructed under the redevelopment project.
