SHIZUOKA – The Shizuoka Prefectural Government held a meeting Friday in Shimoda drawing some 90 participants, including U.S. military and Self-Defense Forces brass as well as local government officials, who discussed ways to prepare for massive earthquakes.
It was the first working-level conference sponsored by a prefectural government in which U.S. military personnel took part to talk about counterdisaster measures, according to the prefectural authority.
