The Yomiuri Giants are preparing to sue their former general manager Hidetoshi Kiyotake for "damage" caused by his criticism of Chairman Tsuneo Watanabe's alleged meddling, baseball sources said Sunday.

"Details of our legal action will be released at a later date," said the public relations department of the daily Yomiuri Shimbun, the media conglomerate that owns the Central League club.

Kiyotake called a press conference at the sports ministry on Nov. 11 to allege improper interference in the ball club's coaching decisions by mover and shaker Watanabe, 85.
