Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama will be in India from Sunday to Wednesday for talks with his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh, on counterterrorism measures, a free-trade agreement and climate issues, officials said.

One of the stops on his trip will be Mumbai, the country's biggest city, before he returns to Japan early Dec. 30. Finalizing the itinerary for his visit was delayed by the extended discussions over the fiscal 2010 budget.
