A police officer has been arrested for allegedly urinating from a Tokyo train platform, the Metropolitan Police Department said Monday.

The sergeant in his 50s, whose name was withheld because he was released without being sent to prosecutors, allegedly committed the act of public indecency at Minami-Senju Station on the JR Joban Line at around 10 p.m. Sunday night, according to a police spokesman.

"I could not hold it any more, so I got off a train and urinated. I am sorry," the Asakusa Police Station sergeant was quoted as saying.

He had been out drinking with colleagues after they finished work Sunday, the police spokesman said.

A security guard at the station seized the sergeant and called police, the spokesman said. Minami-Senju Police Station officers went to the station and took him into custody.

Separately, an Air Self-Defense Force sergeant was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of being naked in front of a 20-year-old woman, police said.

The incident took place at a bicycle parking lot near Mihama-Ryokuen Station on the Meitetsu Line in Mihama, Aichi Prefecture, around 9:10 p.m., the police said.

"I was looking for sexual stimulation," ASDF Sgt. Takumi Akatsuka, 24, was quoted as saying.

He left his cloths on stairs in the station and was wearing nothing but sandals at the time of the arrest, the official said.
