KOBE (Kyodo) A man from Hyogo Prefecture pleaded guilty Wednesday to placing his wife’s 4-year-old son from a previous marriage in a clothes storage box where he died from heatstroke and then putting the corpse in a refrigerator.
Ryu Otsuka, 35, admitted to the charges of fatal confinement and abandonment of a body as his trial, which includes lay judges, opened at the Kobe District Court’s Himeji branch. It is scheduled to hand down a decision Friday.
