Medical accidents climbed to a record high of 1,440 in 2008 as misjudgments and lack of confirmation endangered patients, a survey released by a medical foundation said Friday.
The figure, the highest since the Japan Council for Quality Health Care began compiling data in 2005, is up 174 accidents from the previous year.
