TAIPEI (Kyodo) Taiwan inaugurated a research center Thursday dedicated to Japan affairs and academic cooperation at a leading university in Taipei, a move officials said would strengthen understanding and interaction between Taiwan and Japan.
“I believe the center will lend new momentum to Taiwan’s research and understanding of Japan,” said Foreign Minister Timothy Yang at a ceremony to mark the opening of National Chengchi University’s Center for Modern Japan Studies.
