The Tokyo High Public Prosecutor’s Office has imprisoned former TV commentator and economist Kazuhide Uekusa, who was sentenced to four months for groping a female high school student on a Tokyo train in 2006.
The imprisonment Monday of the 48-year-old former professor in the graduate school of Nagoya University of Commerce & Business came after the Supreme Court rejected his final appeal in June, upholding the prison term for public indecency handed down in district and high court trials.
